STORIES PAINTED: THE PROCESS, THE MURALS, THE CEREMONY RECAP
KAUAI VETERANS CENTER & MUSEUM — EVENT & LIFESTYLE PHOTOS

For the Kauai Veterans Center & Museum, this project documented the creation and unveiling of three monumental murals by local artist Trysen Kaneshige, bringing history, community, and creativity to life across a 75-foot interior wall. The work followed the mural’s development from initial strokes to finished pieces, capturing both the artist’s process and the emotional resonance of his work.
These murals not only tell the stories of Kaua‘i’s veterans—they also made history themselves, earning recognition from the county and paving the way for Trysen to bring his art to more public spaces across the island. By highlighting the collaborative spirit between the museum, the artist, and the community, these photos preserved a moment of cultural significance while celebrating the enduring impact of public art in Kaua‘i. Two months of dedication to these walls culminated in an unveiling on January 9, 2026.

The resulting imagery documented a milestone event while amplifying the museum’s mission and the artist’s vision, demonstrating the transformative power of art within the community.
